There is a clear indication that excessive corruption is a setback for policy implementation in South Africa especially on e-learning. This makes one to wonder how fast the e-school strategies can be put into place to realize the fundamental objective of educating learners.ICTs offer learners opportunity of application and production of knowledge for the real world. ICT gives learners access to information that increases knowledge through the use of Open-Source/Open-Access/Internet. Learners are also in charge of their learning.
They are able to research information using the internet, mixit, face book and can communicate with other learners throughout the world.

ICT tools
It is a fact, ICT tools are the best kept secrets. Recently I have used Microsoft Photostory and Microsoft Movie maker to design the learning materials. It saves time and energy, learners enjoyed my Natural Science lesson on Angiosperms.
Try Microsoft Movie Maker it works for all the Learning areas.

Impact of ICT on Learning Environment
My obersavation on the ICT use in the teaching and learning situation is that the ICTs investigate reality and build knowledge. Learners using the ICTs in learning showed gains on measures of depth of understanding and reflectio. Learners use ICT to analyze, organize and creatively represent real information in constructing knowledge. The use of ICTs promote active learning and authentic assessment and they create conducive learning environment. There is great improvement` in teacher preparation to manage a class of learners who are using hands-on activities.
ICT resources are used to support learners to design and produce their own knowledge representations and thereby engage with powerful learning experiences.Learners have displayed more positive attitudes towards their classes and learning when ICTs are included in learning activities. Educational technology nas had positive effects on student attitude towards learning and on learners' development of skills in spelling, vocabulary, reading and mathematics.
Furthermore, the use of ICT overcome physical disabilities. The variety of input and output devices available provide the opportunity for learners who are physically handicapped to be actively in the same learning activities as other learners. ICT tools provide learning environments that reduce their level of disability.

ICTs engagement in Learning
I believe that we all learn behaviours through imitation, feedback and practice. We learn creativity through playing, observation, viewing examples and receiving feedback. We learn procedures through imitation and practice. We learn reasoning through puzzles, problem solving and examples. Online learning, learning using ICTs offers each of these skills. ICT help to maintain learners’ interest in learning. Challenging concepts in mathematics can be easily done when using interactive and multi-media features of ICT.
ICT engagement in learning create a more positive attitude towards learning, as digital devices/ICT engage learners in more motivating and challenging activities using the new computer-aided design (CAD) software. Learners can create, design the project in his /her own pace and motivated. Learners using computers always develop more positive attitude towards learning on their own, as it provide more stimulating features and many interesting learning experiences.
Educators need to be thinking about how to teach both Legacy and Feature content in the language of the Digital Native(nowadays learners). That is how do we teach these learners in their language, Digital Language so that they understand content. Today’s teachers have to learn to communicate in the language of their students.

The impact of ICTs on Learning and Teaching
The use of ICT in teaching and learning situation promote active learning and authentic assessment. Educators can use ICT to design learning activities that can give learners hands-on activities using different assessment activities (using performance based activities).
ICT may be used to support learners to design and produce their own knowledge representations thereby engage with powerful learning experience. The New Curriculum Statement (NCS) Learning Outcomes are measured by the Assessment Standards i.e. the learner must achieve certain Learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards for example, in Mathematics, LO5: Data Handling AS6;the learner must be able to collect, analyse, organize, and represent data effectively and appropriately. This lessons can be interesting when using the ICT, Micro-soft Excel, as it gives learners the opportunity to draw different graphs, bar graphs, pre charts, etc.
Unlike in the Mathematics textbooks, in the book learners must read the information and represent it on the graph. It does not motivate and challenge learners. While when working on computers the learner can work on this information having a lot to choose from and challenging activities. Educators can make use of Micro-soft Excel to create activities and design graphs. The learner can work on computers being motivated and get immediate feedback. They can sent their work to groups for review using Face book. ICT offers support to learning and teaching environment by providing learning environments that are more learner-centred, knowledge-centred, assessment centre, and community-centred. ICT has multimedia tools that help to provide more motivating and challenging learning experiences that encourage learning experiences that help to encourage learners to be more engaged with their learning, for example, AUTHOREWARE Software, help educators to create and design activities that engage learners and support the development of higher-level thinking skills and independent learning.
Are there sufficient resources available in schools to cater for all Learning Areas and for learners?

The use of ICTs in schools
The modern learners require a range of variety of teaching methods as they are always using and surrounded by digital devices. The use of ICT and digital devices can help teachers to elevate the traditional way of teaching i.e. using the chalkboard, charts and textbooks as the only means of teaching and learning. ICT offers learners opportunity of application and production of knowledge for the real world. ICT gives learners access to information that increases knowledge through the use of Open-Source/Open-Access/Internet. In this case, teacher is the facilitator and not the only person who brings information to learners. Learners are also in charge of their learning. They are able to research information using the internet and can communicate with other learners throughout the world and get different views about a particular topic. Learning for them can be fun and enjoyable.
The use of ICT in schools to support teaching and learning have a positive impact on the learning environment and on learners’ learning. It helps learners to investigate reality and build knowledge. Learners using the Internet, Open-Source, etc, to search information can analyse, organize, and creatively present real information in constructing knowledge. Learners learn better if they build/construct their own information that knowledge lasts. ICT provides learners with the opportunity to research and construct information on their own. The use ICT gives learners the opportunity to develop an appropriate level of capability and learners become more engaged with their learning and achieve Learning Outcomes at a higher level.
Are teachers well equiped to meet the needs of these modern digital leaners?
